Fairy tales are some of the
most exciting and beloved stories
for kids, however it is not
always easy for them to identify
all the elements that separates fairy
tales from other folktales.
In this activity, I have taken 5 well known fairy tales and condensed
them down to short passages. The students will identify, with the help of an anchor chart, 5 very important elements of a fairy tale:
* reoccurring phrases
* reoccurring settings
* good vs. evil
They will color the piece of the story containing that element using a color code. This is a GREAT whole group lesson for the younger grades or an assessment for the older grades.
Also included, 2 different anchor charts and 2 text
connection writing activities!
