Fairy Tales are an integral part of most Language Arts classrooms. In this activity, students test their fairy tale knowledge by completing the sentence clues and then locating the characters within a wordsearch. Students can also try to identify all the fairy tale characters hidden within the story as the teacher reads Once Upon a Time by John Prater. A comparison of two versions of the Cinderella story is a must since there are over 350 versions world-wide. Next, students can write their own fairy tales using the essential element checklist as a guide. A rubric is then included for the teacher to assess the students' tales. This activity will keep you busy for several days as you study fairy tales.
