The unit consists of:
Three emergent readers (one professionally illustrated) offered in both color and blank and white. They are a simple retelling of the fairy tales “The Three Little Pigs”, “The Gingerbread Man” and “The Little Red Hen”. These readers introduce key reading concepts and strategies, beginning letter sounds and common sight words that can be used for shared and guided reading.
➢ “Adventuring Around Gingerbread Land” in this game a player rolls a die and moves that many spaces around the game board. They must identify the letter name and sound of the picture they landed on and print that letter on the dotted letter sheet provided.
➢ “Rhyming Around Fantasy Land” in this game player partners take a turn rolling a die and moving that many spaces on their game board. They must find a picture on their game board chart that rhymes with the picture they landed on
➢ “Spin A Rhyme” in this game partner players take a turn spinning a top and they must find a rhyming picture match to the picture they landed on.
➢ In this theme there are 40 CVC picture cards that can be used to create different games. Suggestions are suggested within the theme.
➢ “Adventuring Around Fantasy Land Sight Word Game” in this game the focus sight words would be printed on the game board. Playing partners would take turns rolling and die and moving that many spaces around the game board. They must say or print the sight word they landed on.
The focus in this theme is on the outcomes outlined below related to the Common Core Standards Outcomes.

➢ I can write numbers 0-20 and show the correct amount of objects for these numbers. K.CC.A.3
