PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

This is an activity that ask students to evaluate and think critically about the fairy tales of "Puss and Boots" and "Jack and the Beanstalk". The activity involves reading the stories (not provided) and then evaluating them in terms of what values they teach children and whether or not they should be kept on the "shelf" of children's literature.
This is really a lesson designed for secondary students to help them learn to read critically and to challenge their own assuptions. They also must have reasons for their stance. A quote sheet is provided of quotes from famous people to help support or defend their opinions.
