"...Faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God." This family home evening lesson teaches children about faith. We need to hear the word of God (through church, family lessons, the prophets, the scriptures, and prayer) in order to start to believe truth. As we act on truth and gain experience, our faith grows. Included in this lesson is an object lesson where we mix colors (kids love this!) to learn truth. Then, we talk about other truths like: we lived in heaven before we came to earth. How do we know this is true? Well, we hear about it at church, at home, in the scriptures, etc. Even though we don't remember our pre-mortal life, we can still have faith and choose to believe. Next, we learn about a little girl named Samantha and how her faith grew. You'll have an empty glass and through each experience, you'll add more and more water to the glass to represent her faith growing. Relate to children's lives. Last, there is a template to either paint, finger paint or draw a flower. Again, this represents a seed growing, just as our faith grows. For more details and pictures, please visit (week 33) here:
