The project entails students studying the style of Faith Ringgold
s work and creating their own paper quilt in her style. Students will cut the scrapbook paper into the various template shapes and then assemble the shapes with glue sticks, onto the white paper in the pattern of a quilt. They will then assemble the images and words that they feel pertain to home, community and school on the surface of the quilt.
Please Note: The book doesn't come with this project- you will have to find your own.
You get the project outline, two marking rubrics, a journal page, and information on the elements and/or principle of design being studied as well as any pertinent information based on the theme.
