What do your students really know about fake news?

You might be surprised at how lacking your classes are in media literacy. Students who don't know about manipulative media are easily duped into buying products they don't need, believing fear-based stories about groups of people, or even voting for politicians who don't have their best interest in mind.

If you want to help the spread of fake news on social media, you'll need practical resources to help your classes understand their blind spots.

This short, fun activity is a “test” of sorts to see how much students know about the difference between fake news and real news.

Students love taking quizzes that don't really count for grades and scoring their results to see what they know. You will love to see what your classes really know about advertisements, photographic evidence, tweets, Facebook, and other elements of the new media literacy.

This quiz is ready to go and includes an answer key and fun "scoring" sheet for students.
