This assignment has students read and discuss an article from The Guardian about Fake news and then apply the what they learn by fact checking 3 articles they find. I have them, if possible, use articles that show up on their social media feed to make it more real to them. If your school has them shut down from social media I have had students email article to themselves or print it off from home so they can look at it at school. They can also search Google for news articles. I just (January 2017) did this assignment and they sere very surprised at what was true and what was fake!
