Just in time for Thanksgiving . . . This versatile fall activity is great for learning all about pumpkins. It can be used in the computer lab or the classroom. Students get practice using an online encyclopedia to look up information, entering text into a digital form (for preparation to use online forms and assessments), and launching a website using an embedded link, as well as practicing their keyboarding and word processing skills and working with files and folders. Students using the digital version of the form could also use this activity to practice naming and saving the files to flash drives and printing their work.
The digital version was designed for cooperative work (with partners). A handwritten version of the form is also included so that students may complete the activity individually using iPads or computers to access the site and writing their answers on their papers. This version can also be projected onto an active board for whole-group work.
To reinforce the skills students learn during the Pumpkin Particulars lesson (week one), three versions of a digital spelling list document (10, 15, and 20 word lists) are included for them to use on week two. These digital spelling list forms are neutrally designed so you can use them with any grade level.
All forms are provided in Microsoft Word format so they can be edited to meet the needs of the teacher and students.
