Included in this download are prep plans, picture direction cards, whole page picture directions, and leveled writing pages for 17 easy art activities. These activities are suitable for students with autism or special needs or an early childhood classroom with students that are still working on fine motor tasks and following directions.
I use these activities in October and November during our independent rotations. They are great for completing a task independently, following directions, and of course some fine motor practice! I prep all materials ahead of time and keep them in labeled manila envelopes. I print and laminate the picture cards and put them on a ring.
*Also included are whole page direction cards to display on a tablet or large screen (Smartboard, Promethean board, etc.) to save you on printing costs!!
Each day at the art center, I set up the materials like a task and have the students follow the direction cards to complete the activity. The idea is to have them be as independent as possible, so it is mostly just putting the craft together with a glue stick; however, you can make the activities easier or more challenging as you see fit.
17 Activities Included:
Tear Paper Pumpkin
Tear Paper Tree
Barrel of Hay
*Updated 9/12/16: Writing pages added :)
*Updated 9/12/16: I have added an easy-print option!! Print plans directly on the construction paper. Students can practice cutting out the pieces independent, or it makes prepping a breeze for teachers!
*Updated 8/24/15: Now there are full-sized images of the picture directions so you can bring them up on a device (iPad, Smartboard, Promethean, Laptop, etc.) to save you printing costs and prep!
