Introduce your elementary art students to the HORIZON LINE with this FALL FLINT CORN (INDIAN CORN) ART PROJECT. After learning about the characteristics and uses of Flint Corn (Indian Corn), students will create a corn print and a painted background with a horizon line.

The 74 slides in this scripted PowerPoint will guide students through a discussion about the colors of Fall. Students will identify the characteristics of Flint Corn (Indian Corn) and compare the visual characteristics of Flint Corn (Indian Corn) with those of sweet yellow corn.

Art vocabulary is introduced throughout this scripted PowerPoint. Using photographs of corn fields, students will be introduced to the Horizon Line, Foreground, and Background. A list of materials for all four days is included to help you prepare for this fun lesson. Visual step by step instructions are also included in this scripted PowerPoint for each part of the project.
