Use this activity along with Pumpkin Problem Solving (on my wall) for a great differentiated bulletin board! Students work alongside one another to solve this challenging math word problem - meant to be done in cooperative pairs. Students can insert their own names into the word problem. They are asked to compare numbers of pumpkins using "greater than," "less than," or "equal to" and write an inequality to match. You may choose to have students write a supporting sentence to explain their answer (on a sentence strip).
