This fun activity has students up and moving to solve multi-step problems in math class. Students solve problems and the correct answer gives them a clue in figuring out who took a cake from the Cake Walk, where the person hid it, and why he or she took it. There are two sets of problems so you can differentiate or choose the one that works best in your class. The first set has multi-step problems involving basic multiplication facts, and multi-digit addition and subtraction. The second set has similar questions, but instead of basic multiplication, students practice 2 digit x 1 digit multiplication. Whether you use the first set or the second set, students will arrive at the same answer, so you can use both at the same time. Included is a letter to the students about the mystery they have to solve, 10 clues (2 sets of these), student work papers encouraging students to show their work, and answer keys for all the problems. My students loved figuring out the mystery and they enjoyed the Fall Jamboree themed problems!
