*Vocabulary knowledge chart.
*Eight apple-themed reading passages containing key tier -2 words in bold and 24 vocabulary-building strategy cards.
*Comprehension questions related to each story. The primary purpose of this product is to address tier-2 vocabulary found within each story and work on ways to enhance vocabulary knowledge and use.
*Two sentence completion writing pages for use with the Strategy 6 prompts found on the game cards.

A CORNUCOPIA OF TIER 2 WORDS:
This packet is designed to help teach students look beyond the memorization of dictionary definitions and further develop a deeper understanding of tier-2 vocabulary words . In addition, it addresses comprehension skills through “WH” questions related to the content of the passages that require thoughtful, inferential responses.

MUM'S THE WORD:
These activities are made to challenge older students to
learn new vocabulary through various strategies. All words are
Halloween-themed, several with “mum” embedded in them.
30 total vocabulary words are introduced in this activity.

A SPOOKY TOOTHY HALLOWEEN TREAT:
How do you produce speech? Includes a simplified informational page about the articulators, an open-ended questions regarding alternate ways to communicate and a page to list words that are made using various parts of the speech mechanism. This activity is a great way to build greater awareness in students working on articulation skills.

Also included, a recipe for A Spooky Toothy Treat, a fill- in- the- blank page for recalling and sequencing the steps in the activity, and full- color step by step photos to print out and use for a sequencing task in place of, or along with, the actual food activity. Each photo contains a blank box to write in the step in the process and blank sentence strips to write in the steps describing each picture.
