Nature Notebook---Kids take this little booklet outside when they explore and discover their surroundings. This is designed more specifically for a North American outdoor day trip.
This booklet (10 half pages in length) can be stapled or bound with a real twig and a single rubber band. (Other forms of binding would be fine as well.)
A fall scavenger hunt list that you can use to track down interesting objects found on the ground and all around is also included. Use instead of or in addition to the nature booklet.
If you want to add a stick to make a binder, just loop a rubber band through the two holes on the edge (marked). Then slide the stick through the two end loops of the rubber band. A stick cover brings the outdoors in!
Black and white pages are folded in the middle; then the edges are fastened together....EASY!
Kids will enjoy jotting down their observations, and collecting natural artifacts (must bring baggies!) to share after a field trip or nature walk.
There are 3 options for covers, with consideration for economical gray scale printing. A reference sheet is included for easy leaf and tree identification. (Although the leaves are in fall colors, the shape can help with identification for spring or summer.)
Children love exploring and recording their observations. This is a great way to get them writing like naturalists.
Thanks to Charlotte's Clips for her colorful leaves clip art collection!
