Take your students on a walk through a nature park. Give each student a scavenger hunt list and a pencil to cross off each item as it’s found. Provide paper lunch sacks for students to collect leaves, acorns, twigs, berries, pebbles, etc. they will use to create leaf people back in class.
Read Leaf Man by Lois Ehlert. Provide students with glue and construction paper (maybe even googly eyes) and have them create leaf people. If time remains, they can do the classic leaf rubbing activity with crayons.
Thinking about their nature walk, have students complete the My Fall Senses activity along with the writing and drawing pages on what they love best about Fall.
Play fall inferencing game as a class or in a small group, OR distribute the fall inferencing worksheet for everyone to complete on their own.
Complete the addition/subtraction story problems worksheet.
Have fun with fall-scented playdoh! The recipe for pumpkin spice playdoh is included. You can use the same basic recipe but switch spices, extracts, and dye to make apple cinnamon, vanilla, and maple.
