You can use this activity to teach or assess a student's ability to put items in order from smallest to largest, largest to smallest and tallest to shortest. Pictures and a record sheet are included.
I introduced the concept at circle time and completed practice with the students at the smart board. When we went to small group table time, I used this as an assessment of their learning. For students that need some differentiation, I drew a dot at the starting and ending point that was the size I wanted them to start and end with. So for Largest to Smallest, I put a large dot at the beginning and a small dot at the end. This really seemed to help my younger students complete the activity.
