This adapted book has a fall theme and works on basic sight words (do, you, see, and the). It allows students to practice reading the words and put the sentences together in the right order. Students can be given all the pieces together or can be given the pieces to just one page at a time to work on. Laminating and using velcro for the pieces means that you can use it for many years.
This book is a great way for younger students or students with disabilities (I use them with students with autism) to practice reading sight words, sentence order, and basic comprehension skills in a hands on way. This is also a task that many students can do independently.
There are 3 worksheets that can also be completed to practice skills from the book. They focus on yes/no questions that involve identifying if the picture matches the sentence correctly, writing the missing words in the fall sentences, and a review page that reviews the sight words and also matching the sentence to the correct picture.
