Fall Sports Barrier Activity and Craftivity for Speech and Language Development. These fall sports-themed barrier activies, craftivity, and reinforcement activities are perfect for your speech room or small group center working on following directions, answering questions, using sentences, and generating narratives.
Included in this material:
Barrier Activity: 3 barrier scenes & 30 fall sport images (football, soccer, & cheerleading) Suggested use: Print 2 of each scene (pages 4, 6, & 8). Place in sheet protectors (not included). Print 2 pages of each of the image sets (pages 5, 7, & 9). Cut each image (it is your choice whether you want to keep the border on the select images or cut close to the image edge). Laminate images, if desired. Place 2 students across from each other with a divider. Have students take turns giving and receiving directions. Barrier scenes can also be used for creating sentences, answering questions and generating narratives.
Black & White Barrier Activity (pages 10-11): Use as suggested above, with the exception of laminating. Use as worksheets. Students can glue items to the barrier scene, if desired.
Soccer Ball Craftivity:
See pages 12 & 13. You need a white paper plate (not included) for each soccer ball craftivity. Copy/print page 12 on cardstock for durability, if desired. Trace template shape (7 for each soccer ball) on black (or any color) construction paper (not included). You can adjust the size of the shape, as needed to fit your selected paper plate. Glue the 7 shapes on the paper plate to make the soccer ball (see sample on pg. 12). Copy half sheet worksheet page 13 (one half sheet per soccer ball). Glue on the bottom edge or back of the the plate after practicing/completing the desired target skill/task. Optional, draw lines using a black marker or crayon to connect the shapes (see sample on pg. 12).
Let’s Play Football and Cheer Your Heart Out Snip & Stick Reinforcement:
Suggested use: Use as reinforcement after practicing any target skill. Students will cut each football and/or pom pom and glue on or around the pictured object after practicing a target skill.
