Fall Literature List:
Choose books from the list about apples to read to your students.
Fall Writing Station Words:
Print and laminate a few colored copies of the Fall Writing Station words for students to use or copy one sheet for each student to put in their writing folder or journal.
“All About Fall Classroom Book
: After reading several books about fall, copy cover on cardstock and then copy the student sheet for each student. Have them write and draw something that they know about the fall. Collect each student paper and make classroom book binding or stapling book together.
“Fall Fun” Classroom Book:
After reading several books about fall, copy cover on cardstock and then copy the student sheet for each student. Have them write and draw something that they have fun doing in the fall. Collect each student paper and make classroom book binding or stapling book together.
Fall “I See” Student Booklet:
Students can work on this booklet at center or quiet work time to practice their number and color words. Students copy over the number and color word and then color the fall pictures the correct color. You can copy the pages on regular paper, there are two booklet pages to each sheet with one cover and 10 other pages..
Fall Senses Booklet:
Copy and assemble each of the “ Fall Senses” booklets for each students . There are two booklet pages to each sheet with one cover and 6 other pages.. You can copy as many pages as you would like students to do. Students fill in the blank of each fall senses statement and then draw a picture of what they wrote.
Fall Fact Sheet Organizers
After reading informational text about fall students fill out this nonfiction organizer with 3 facts they have learned about the Fall. Students must include a topic and concluding sentences about Fall. At the bottom of the sheet students write out their facts and conclusion into sentences to make a paragraph. This paragraph can be typed up to make a classroom book or a student display. May also use the leaf writing page for students to write their story.
“Leaf” Writing Sheet:
Students write a paragraph of what they know about the fall with the sheets provided.
Seasons of a Tree Look Organizer:
After reading stories about the fall a few times, have students fill out the organizer by drawing or writing words on what does trees look like during each season of the year.
Story Elements Graphic Organizers (2 types)
: After reading a story from the literature list a few times, have students fill out the story elements: characters, setting, problem & ending., either by drawing or writing out with words.
Retelling Graphic Organizers (3 types):
After reading a story from the literature list a few times have students fill out the story retelling organizer, beginning, middle, and ending of the story. Two organizer have the boxes with lines and one is an leaf shape to organize the retelling.
The Fall Tree Art Project:
Copy and assemble the Fall Tree with the directions and template page in unit. Hang the Fall Trees in the hallway or in the classroom for decorations.
The Leaf Poem Art Project:
Copy and assemble the Leaf Acrostic poem with the directions and template page in unit. Hang the Leaves & poems in the hallway or in the classroom for decorations.
Fall Beginning Sound Capital & Lowercase Match Games:
Matching Game: Children match the pictures with the beginning sound capital & lowercase letter. Memory Game: Either use both letter cards or one letter card and the sound cards. Children can play this by placing the cards face down in rows. They take turns turning two cards over to see if the letter and sound match. If it does they keep both cards, if not they turn the cards back over and the next child has a turn. The person who has the most matches wins the game. Challenge: Memory game using all three cards in set to find and match.
Fall Make a Word Game:
Students insert vowels apples (a,,e, i, o, u) onto line on the word cards and make words. Students can write words on white boards or paper. They may also use the Make A Word worksheets included in this resource.
Fall Roll It! Read It Short Vowel Sounds:
Two game cards with words for Short Vowel Sounds of a, e, i, o & u; Students roll one dice and read the words or sentences in the row they have rolled.
Fall Number & Number Word Match Game:
Children place the number counters to match the number word or numeral on the number card. Number Words cards are 0-10, Numeral cards are 0-20.
Fall Roll & Cover Games : (2 different games): One Dice Roll:
Roll one die and count your dots. Cover the number of dots you rolled with your marker. Two players will need to use two different colors. Covering the most numbers wins! Two Dice Roll:

Fall Missing Number Clip Game:
Children place a paper clip or clothes pin to the correct answer of what numeral is missing in the series of three numbers. Note: Put a little sticker on the back of card in the correct answer space so students an easily self-correct.
