Fall is finally here, and your adult ESL students are wondering what people in the United States do during the fall season. Let them dive into the spirit of autumn while they learn and practice words to talk about common fall activities. Adult ESL students like to learn about and observe the seasons, but they aren't in class to do cutesy arts and crafts. They want to improve their English. Give them that opportunity without using up your free time to prepare anything.

This deck of 35 BOOM cards uses beautiful, full-color photos along with audio. In Fall Vocabulary #1, students will hear the activity and choose from four photos. The audio plays automatically.

If this deck isn't the best fit for your students' level(s), take a look at the other options:

  • In Fall Vocabulary Introduction, students see an image and have the chance to think about what they are seeing before clicking on the audio icon to hear the fall-related activity. Then, if they are already reading, they can click and drag the box to uncover the text before proceeding to the next card.
  • In Fall Vocabulary #2, students hear the activity, choose from four photos, and click on the correct text box. The audio plays automatically.
  • In Fall Vocabulary #3, students see an image and choose the correct answer from four text boxes. The audio doesn't play automatically, so students can choose whether they hear it or not.
  • In Fall Vocabulary #4, students see a photo and type the fall-related activity below. The audio doesn't play automatically, so students can choose whether they hear it or not.

To use Boom Cards, you must be connected to the Internet. Boom Cards play on modern browsers (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge). Apps are available for Android, iPads, iPhones, and Kindle Fires.
