Enhance your Fall and or Thanksgiving Unit with this great vocabulary resource. Introduce a unit vocabulary word by having your students use it in a variety of different ways. I use this as morning work and my student love coming into the room each day and seeing what the new word of the day is. They will need to trace the word, write it three times, fill in a sentence, unscramble the word and lastly create their own sentence using the word. Lastly, I have my students review the sentence parts by circling the noun, verb and adjective in specific colors, which has really helped in enhancing their sentence writing capabilities. The posters will also add a visual reference to help reinforce the learning. The words included are: Thanksgiving, cornucopia, Mayflower, scarecrow, tree house, hayride, pumpkin, veteran, harvest, pilgrim, native, turkey, autumn, leaves, feast and fall. I have included the word tree house because I am using the Magic Tree House "Thanksgiving on Thursday" in my Thanksgiving unit.
