With this simple activity, your students will combine excitement for the fun of the fall season with valuable practice of changing fractions to decimals and percents! Students generate fall words or phrases that contain between three and twelve letters each, with the goal of being able to come up with one word or phrase for each number of letters. Then they will circle the vowels in each and determine the fraction, decimal, and percent of each word/phrase that is made up of vowels. Perfect for a group activity, extra credit assignment, Friday afternoon fun, or homework that gets kids talking about math at home while they brainstorm fall words with family members!
