This lesson is designed to close a unit on the Roman Empire and/or draw a bridge between Ancient Rome and Medieval Europe / Middle Ages / Dark Ages.
Have students follow along to identify 4 causes (e.g. social decay), 4 figures (e.g. the Apostle Paul), 4 events (e.g. Attacks from Attila or the 476A.D. sack of Rome) and 4 effects (e.g. the rise of feudalism) of the Fall or Rome. Also, have students work on the Flavius Odoacer or Romulus AugustusStick Figure mini-biography assignments for homework, classwork, or group work.
A document with thumbnail printouts (in both PDF and MS WORD formats) of the 16 images are available for students to cut out and paste in the boxes as well. Enjoy!
