This is a short writing assessment used to gauge student understanding about the causes of the Fall of the Roman Empire. Students are task to compare a song to one or more reasons to the Fall of Rome. Students will demonstrate their comparisons through a written/typed paragraph.(Rubric included.)
Essentially, this would be assigned at the conclusion to a Fall of Rome lesson or a Rome Unit.
Such a simple assessment provides great opportunity to incorporate the Musical and Linguistic components of Gardner's Multiple Intelligence.
