This is a “Write the Room” and so much more! I have included all things fall to practice different math skills with your little learners as well!
In this packet you will find 3 different sets of write the room cards with fall vocabulary on them. You can find and use the one that best fits your needs. You may still find uses for the other sets, for word walls, vocabulary words, pocket chart activities. You will also
find a “word bank” with the words. If you put those in page protectors and inside a folder (the version with the brads for holding hole punched pages), you have an “on the go” mini word wall for independent writing or another center!
It is common core aligned and covers these standards:
SL.K.1 I can participate conversations with my friends.
SL.K.4 I can describe things and events.
SL.K.5 I can add drawings to add details.
SL.K6 I can be understood when I speak in class.
LK.1 I can print my letters.
W.K1 I can write my opinion about something.
W.K2 I can write about something I know.
RF.K3 I can read my sight words.
R.FK.4 I can read an emergent reader with purpose and understanding.
KCC.1 I can count to 100 by ones and 10’s.
KCC.2 I can count forward from a given number.
K.CC.5 I can count to tell how many.
K.OA.1 I can use manipulatives to figure out addition and subtraction problems.
K.OA.5 I can add fluently within 5.
You will also find a survey, thinking maps/graphic organizers (including a Venn Diagram), writing paper with and without prompts. I have included squirrels with Fry’s 100 sight words in a “Where’s the acorn?” game format. (You can also use the squirrel’s in a “Write the Room” format with the included answer sheet for Write the Room sight words!) I have included another pocket chart activity to sort the “Fall” words by syllable. (I have also included a “Write the Room” recording sheet that has the students sorting the words by number of syllables as well!) I have even included a Fall themed emergent reader! There are leaf pocket chart activities for counting to 1’s to 120, a different set counting by 10’s to 120 and pumpkins counting by 5’s to 120. I have included 14 extra math worksheets for extra practice with numbers, counting, addition and subtraction and patterning!
What a great unit to celebrate all things fall while learning loads of common core standards in both ELA and Math!
