Problem Solving, using the CCSS Mathematical Practices, is an essential skill for all students to have. These 8 seasonal activities offer students an opportunity to develop their problem solving skills while having to determine the important vocabulary, what the question is and what it is asking. Your students will need to use drawings to express their thinking as well as defend their answers. These activities are aligned with the CCSSM: 1.OA.1, 1.OA.2 and 2.OA.1. They can be completed as a whole group, in small groups or independently. They offer opportunities for rich discussion and critiquing the thinking of others.
