This packet is developed to target simple syllable patterns to target Childhood Apraxia of Speech. This packet will also be beneficial for other speech disorders. The packet uses many early developing sounds such as /p,b,m,n,t,d,w/. Some of the chosen targets include more variety of sounds including /s,r,l,f,k,g/. This will target all of your student’s sounds to capitalize on any sounds they already have in their phonetic inventory, while practicing missing sounds.
To Play: 174 cards and 11 homework sheets are included to target syllable patterns of increasing complexity. Each card includes a leaf that pictures an image and word. In the bottom left corner of the card a black dot is included. These dots represent the number of syllables and allow students to touch them while they produce the sound, emphasizing multisensory practice. The top left corner of the card is marked by color and syllable pattern to help organize the card set. To play print all leaves. Students can either play with a single-sheet tree in front of them or with a poster size tree. I print the poster size tree, attach it with tape to a wall, and attach 18 Velcro dots. Attach dots to the back of the leaf cards and then let students add/remove the leaves from the tree.
