Do your students need to practice the concept of number bonds? Do you want a
fun fall display for Parent's Night or Open House? Then check out this Falling for
Number Bonds Project!
How to use:
* Print 1 tree top for every 2 students (on blue paper)
* Print a trunk for every student (on green paper)
* Optional: Print number bond circles on white paper
* Print 2 copies of each leaf page on red, orange, red, or all 3 color papers. Cut a
strip of 10 for each student.
After gluing the tree top to the trunk, demonstrate putting all the
leaves around the treetop. Count them and write "10." Call this the "whole" amount
of leaves. Drag some leaves to one side of the tree and the rest to the other side.
Count one side at a time, filling in the number in the corresponding circle. Call each
side "part" of the total leaves the tree had.
Give some kids 9, 8, or 7 leaves for variety.
