Product Description
I use this metaphor project in conjunction with reading The Glass Castle by Jeannette Walls, as Jeannette compares her family to a "tumbleweed." This project could also be used in teaching metaphors or comparisons, and is a great way to get to know your students and better understand their family dynamics.

The assignment asks students to make a comparison between their families and another object. I ask my students to refrain from using the traditional "tree" as a metaphor for their families.
