Product Description
  Family Book & Movie Night!

This product will help you start and maintain a reading program that connects school to home! Using your own collection of books and movies, students can take them home and do compare and contrast activities with their family. This will be a great way to promote reading for enjoyment, help build fluency, increase critical thinking, teach discussion skills, and help parents feel included in the classroom no matter what their schedules may be!

Included in this project are the following:

- Description of this "program"

- Example of how I use it in my classroom

- Parent Intro Letter – send letter home to introduce the program and get parents
excited.

- Book & Movie Tracking Form – keep track of who has what materials and
when they are due.

- 2 Parent Permission Slips (1 includes a replacement fee for lost materials,
1 does not)

- Book/Movie Titles and Ratings – there are 3 versions (pre-made 4th grade list,
blank list with lines for you to fill in your titles, blank list with no lines)

- Congratulations Note (Black/White and color versions) – send home a
congratulations note for positive reinforcement.

- Part I: Book Guidelines – instruction form to be sent home with book. There are 2
versions – one asks the students to complete a book summary and review after
reading and the other asks them to complete a short book critique.

- Book Critique form (also includes a space for a short book review)

- Movie Critique form

- Book VS Movie Critique form

- Book Summary & Review form (1 page – single writing lines)

- Book Summary, Book Review, Movie Review pages (2 sets with different writing
lines depending on your student’s needs)

- Compare And Contrast – compare the book and movie using a Venn Diagram.

- What Did You Notice? – page for students/parents to take notes as they are
reading and watching movie.

- Compare And Contrast – compare the book and movie using a grid form.

- Part II: Movie Guidelines – instruction form to be sent home with movie, lists the
final project choices. (2 versions, 1 asks students to complete a movie critique
and 1 asks for a movie review)
