This is a group activity. Each person in the group receives a different card with the name of family members written on it. The students have to describe the person in Spanish without saying the actual word. For example, to describe "tía", one could say "la hermana de mi madre." They have to complete the crossword puzzle by describing all the names. This presents the opportunity to describe how important godparents are to many Spanish families. It also allows them to work on circumlocution, where if they don't know a word in Spanish, they can use descriptions and words they do know for the listener to understand.
