Our K-5 Global Gateway lesson plans are student-centered and follow a PBI structure of:
-ASKING a compelling question.
-INVESTIGATING & ANALYZING resources, information and knowledge.
-SYNTHESIZING what you learned & CREATING a product of your learning.
-SHARING the product of learning with others.
-REFLECTING on the learning experience & REVISING the product of learning.
In the lesson, Family Cultures, students will investigate their own culture, history and family background.
1) Use digital media to create a scrapbook that reflects what they have discovered about their own culture (food, clothing, music, arts, holidays, etc.).
2) Learn about the diverse cultures of their classroom community by sharing their scrapbooks with each other.
