I had my students play this game in math stations with a partner. First, children line up the houses in counting order. One student is the teacher, and the other is the student. The student must figure out the answer to the math problems and set the cards onto the house that matches the correct answer. The teacher has two roles: time the student (with a stop watch) and check to make sure the student has put the addition cards onto the correct houses. The students should change roles and play again. For more practice, additional rounds of the game should be played with a goal of beating your own best time.
