Product Description
This project focuses on teaching college and career readiness skills, and creating an environment of active learning. The unit does this by creating "families" within the classroom. Students will come up with a family name, and create their own culture to contribute to the class. In addition to being part of a family, each student will apply to a class job. The application requires an interview, cover letter, and online application. Students evaluate themselves each day on their work, and are "paid" as a family based on their effort. Students use their paychecks to purchase rewards, which they come up with! Students come up with the rubric for how they will be graded.

The class jobs and interview assignments are designed for High School English, but could be used in any middle school or high school classroom!
