This Powerpoint introduces family vocabulary through the use of family trees. Rather than a traditional "tante = aunt" approach, it uses family relationships to convey meanings.
This Powerpoint utilizes definite and indefinite articles, être, avoir, and the possessive construction "de +"
This activity pairs well with my other posted family activities:
--family matching full French.doc utilizes a word bank and contextualized definitions (and possessive pronouns), such as "Le père de ma femme est mon ____________________."
--family_independent.doc requires students to reconstruct a family tree using clues written from the perspective of nine members of a family. This is deisgned for independent work.
--Family reunion.doc is designed to get students up and moving: Each student is a member of one of several families, and students must ask one another questions in an effort to reunite their families and construct a family tree.
