This packet includes guided reading passages for a Famous Americans unit. Passages have been leveled for differentiation. The leveling is as follows:
George Washington (below grade level),
Abraham Lincoln (at or approaching standards),
Martin Luther King Jr. (at grade level),
Sally Ride (above grade level).
Each passage includes headings, so instruction can include a discussion about non-fiction features; as well as boxes at the bottom of the page, where students can illustrate their learning.
The passages have been created so students can "jig saw" their learning. Each group can become an "expert" on their famous American, and then teach the rest of the class about the person studied. Happy Learning!
