Famous Americans: This is a fun Scoot or center activity. It includes 20 short paragraphs about different Famous Americans. There is one text-based comprehension question for each paragraph. Also includes an answer sheet and answer key.
Each card is to be folded in half and set up like a little tent. The students scoot from one to the next, reading the paragraph on one side of the tent and answering the question on the other side.
You can also fold and glue the cards if you want to use at a center - story on one side, question on the other.
Use just for fun or for an informal comprehension assessment. Either way, when the students are up and moving, they think it's fun! A great way to engage students in reading while letting them get up and move.
