In our class we learn about five famous Americans: George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, Benjamin Franklin, George Washington Carver, and Eleanor Roosevelt. To help my students become familiar with each person in the short amount of time I have, I’ve put together a few quick and engaging activities. Included in this packet:
-Lesson Plans: I’ve included detailed lesson plans that lay out the supplies you and your students will need, the objective, and step-by-step instructions for the different activities.. These come in both color and printable versions.
-All-About Biography: Each famous American comes with a kid-friendly biography that includes important info about their life.
-Accordion Booklet: The students will create an accordion booklet, with each page highlighting a different famous American. There are detailed instructions for how to create this booklet.
Each day there are follow-up worksheets that allow you to extend the learning beyond the lesson. There are answer keys included for each worksheet.
-Summative Brochure: As a summative activity, your students can make a famous Americans brochure to share all that they have learned. There are detailed instructions for how to create this brochure.
