This is a four part unit by Reading Through History documenting the lives and achievements of the Cherokee Nation's most famous leaders of the 19th Century. In this download there are four separate readings covering the lives of Major Ridge and Elias Boudinot, Sequoyah, John Ross, and Stand Watie. Each section includes three pages of student activities that include reading comprehension questions, vocabulary activities, guided reading activities, student summaries, and a student response essay question.
*My students typically complete an assignment in about 30 minutes. This provides for 10 to 15 minutes of discussion/intro prior to each assignment.
