Use this project as a template for a fun and exciting way to engage your students in a discussion of famous Hispanic people! I was inspired by the famous Hispanic talk show host Cristina Saralegui to model my discussion on the "most famous" person in Spanish history. You can edit this template to make it specific to whatever country or topic you are studying in class.
I wanted my students to have this discussion in the format of a talk show, but also do their own research with the help of their classmates. Once you show some footage of her on television from YouTube, students will immediately make connections between her and Oprah. This is a great way to have a large summative assessment that includes formative assessments along the way. It is also very fun!
The project description is written in English because I wanted my students to understand the complexities of the project. All classroom work to prepare for the project, as well as the actual day of the "talk show" was done in Spanish.
This was formulated for a Spanish 4 level class, comprised of all juniors in high school. It can be scaled up or down depending on the precision you are looking for.
