Product Description
Famous Leaders in Ancient Egypt - Inquiry-Based, Comprehension

This real-world problem activity starts off with an email from the director of a new documentary film that focuses on three of Ancient Egypt’s best-known leaders: Hatshepsut, Ramses II, and Akhenaton (with his wife Nefertiti). Students are asked to assume the role of an expert who will be interviewed for the documentary.

After reviewing their knowledge by reading four different source types (a newspaper article, a non-fiction magazine article, lecture notes, and an encyclopedia-style entry) students will work in groups to write a set of questions and answers (on the provided graphic organizer) that will form the interview. If you have time, you can even have students act out or film their interview!

Totally student-led • No teaching required!

Fantastic as group work, bell work, an extension assignment, history centers, bonus work, or quiet work when a substitute teacher is filling in. Print just one set of fact sheets and place them around the room as centers to save on ink and encourage collaborative learning!

This product includes:
• email from director (instructions)
• 4 fact sets (encyclopedia-style entry, newspaper article, lecture notes, and a non-fiction magazine article)
• graphic organizer for interview script
• answer Key
