This 10 page interactive adapted book helps students learn about United States Landmarks through WH questions. Each page includes 1-2 sentences of informational text and three corresponding WH questions. Students choose the correct answers from a field of 3 cards with both words and a picture.
Each landmark has 3 questions - what, where and when. The answer cards are all correct, but the student needs to match the question and answer type (example: "where" is a place - find the state).
Example passage and WH questions:
*The Statue of Liberty is a giant statue in New York. It was a gift from the country of France. The Statue of Liberty opened in 1886.
• What is the name of the giant statue?
• Where is the Statue of Liberty?
• When did the Statue of Liberty open?
This is not a comprehensive review of these landmarks but rather a few key pieces are highlighted for a special education class. The text is very basic so students can focus on the important pieces. Please check out the preview - it contains the entire book so you can determine whether it is appropriate for your students.
Includes directions for creating the book, set up, instruction, a visual aide and modifications. While designed for students with autism, this book can be used in any special education classroom.
