This product includes activities to go with "Fancy Nancy and the Boy from Paris". The following resources and activities are included.
Pgs. 3-16 Fancy Vocabulary Cards- I use word cards with my students when they are learning new words. I post them in my room so that they are always handy. We do lots of games and activities with the flashcards, including using vocabulary graffiti and visual organizers. I use lots of visual and hands on activities when learning new words. When my students leave speech I quiz them as they are going out the door for bonus points.
Pgs. 17-24 Use these cards to practice synonyms
and antonyms. The cards can be used to play a memory game, go fish, or matching.
Pgs. 25-28 Adjectives are Awesome! Use adjectives (describing words) to match to each picture and name the noun it describes.
Pgs. 29-31 Fancy Rolling Game- My students love any game where they can roll dice. In the Fancy Rolling Game students roll the die and try to collect the color pictures to cover their black and white pictures. This is a reinforcement activity that could be used with any skill. Make copies so that each student has their own to play the game with or you could do a boys versus girls.
Pg. 32 Compare and Contrast- I use a lot of graphic organizers with my students. I especially like using Venn Diagrams when working on the concept of same and different. Compare and Contrast Fancy Nancy and the boy from Paris using the Venn Diagram.
Pg. 33-34 Comprehension Questions- “Wh” questions from the story.
Pg. 35 Sequencing Fun- Students can practice the order for the days of a school week and then put the events of the story in order by day.
