Word puzzle using difficult or important words from chapters 12 and 13 of the novel by Roald Dahl.
There are 30 words for students to find. After they find the words in the grid, a second task asks students to write a new sentence using each word, showing their understanding of it.
This is a fun activity that students really enjoy. You could use it with early finishers, or give to a sub teacher, or just use on a day when you need a filler and have nothing else prepared. Because students have to write sentences showing their understanding of the words, it's not just a time filler, it's an active learning resource.
The solution is included.
