This interactive lesson includes an interesting cultural reading that compares & contrasts the popularity of football in the US with the role soccer plays throughout the rest of the world. The cultural reading activity also has assessment questions that can be used to test students' comprehension or to spark an interesting class discussion.
In addition, this fun game/lesson has 32 questions or clues that describe the NFL teams. There are also student answer sheets, answer keys, videos, and a master list of all of the teams and their cities and mascots in Spanish. This game also includes several daily warm-ups that will get Spanish students or native speakers reading, listening, and thinking in Spanish right from the start of class. This game also goes along perfectly with a sports unit or teachers can play this game to get everyone excited about the Super Bowl.
This game has football-related clues about all of the NFL teams, the cities in which they play, and their mascots. These clues are divided into six separate days - with a master list included for the teacher. The students write their guesses on their game papers (included) which have all of the NFL teams and their cities listed at the top in Spanish. Even students who are not football fans can easily guess the teams based on descriptions of mascots and cities the teams are from. After the time limit, the teacher shares the correct answers so the students can see how many they guessed correctly each day. At the end of six days, the student(s) with the most correct answers receive(s) a prize of your choice! This is the perfect game to complement a sports unit or to encourage excitement before the Super Bowl!
Also included is an article in Spanish comparing the differences between soccer (fútbol) and football (fútbol americano). This article includes useful vocabulary and several comprehension questions.
