Developmentally appropriate Farm math centers for the preschool, pre-k, and kindergarten classroom! This resource is perfect for all developmental and cognitive levels of early childhood. The centers are fun, engaging, and offer challenges and reinforcement of basic skills.
This resource is set up with 3 levels of developmentally appropriate farm themed Numeral Formation and Numeral Writing centers for the early childhood classroom. Every class is different, every student is different, so this resource gives you the option of starting out slowly, building on what your students know, and offering a challenge as skills are mastered.
Level 1: Count and Fill Numbers
This beginning level will help students practice making the shapes of numbers, and counting 1-10. Count the pictures and fill in the numeral with Play-doh, beans, buttons, or mini erasers (shown). This is a great way to introduce numeral formation while developing fine motor skills.
Level 2: Correct Formation Count ant Trace
This center activity builds on the first by forming the same numerals, but adding in correct formation. Students will count the farm animals and form the numerals by following the arrows. This activity will also reinforce that each number represents a quantity.
Level 3: Count and Trace 1-10
This activity builds on the first two. In this activity the Numerals to trace are smaller and repeated many times. The smaller numerals require more advanced fine motor skills. Again, this activity will reinforce that each number represents a quantity
Find the Center activity that works best for your students.
