Product Description
Addition and Subtraction Math Centers. These Farm Themed Ten Frame Addition and Subtraction Math Centers are fun and easy to use! This set includes 10 different farm animals. That is a complete set of 10-ten frame cards and an addition & subtraction printable for each animal. X cards are included as well if you want to use them to make subtraction sentences (or use your own marker pieces).

I hope your students enjoy this as much as mine have. I love putting these ten frames into my math center. They can match subtraction problems to ten frames. Just let them choose a set of farm animals, lay X’s on some of them and create subtraction problems.

I like for them to make their own word problems while they do this. “Seven pigs were in the mud. Two of the pigs left to eat the slop. How many pigs were left in the mud?” I’ve also used clothespins to clip over the animals to show their subtraction.

I've included subtraction cards with the farm animal theme and some card with no addition or subtraction sentence on it so the students can create their own. Make sure to laminate these so they can be used again and again.

Laminate the ten frames and the X’s to make them durable for a math center and cut out.

Use the “Subtract it!” printable for students to write down the subtraction problems they’ve created.

You can also use the ten frames for addition. Students count how many animals are in the frame. They count how many blank spaces there are to tell how many more they need to make 10.

Use the “Add it!” printable for students to write down the addition problems they’ve created.
