Visit New England and a farmer's market while you figure out the math problems. Many different types of questions that make students think and work through multiple steps to arrive at their answers. Financial literacy skills are enhanced with this product. This lesson can easily be used as various mini lessons in problem solving or in a small group. It can also be used in an independent station as all slides are self checking. Use it with the whole class and begin the discussion of how many different ways students went about solving the problem. Work in partners or have a little friendly competition in the room to solve the problems. Do you have 10 minutes before lunch or dismissal where you could use this one slide a day at a time and have some great discussions about how to solve. So many ways to use this lesson and any way you use it, your students benefit from having to problem solve and use critical thinking skills. Great for grades 4-7 depending on the level.
