With this activity, students list the titles of FFN's chapters and makes inferences about the content of the chapter and the author's purpose. Making inferences and analyzing the choices the author makes to structure the book match standard RI.5.
You could also include CCSS RI.1 for citing evidence since students will need to cite words to support analysis, and you could include RI.6 for analyzing for the author's purpose.
I required students to work individually on the chart, but they could collaborate with a partner I chose for them as a method of differentiation.
